FOCUS

By Asa Leveaux

As an entrequeerneur coach (business coach with a niche in LGBTQ+ entrepreneurship) I come in contact with so many humans who have a great idea, product and/or service. They have the brain capacity, the desire and the internal motivation to profit from their genius, but they usually lack one important part.

THEY LACK FOCUS!

At a time when you have smart individuals feeling as though they can succeed and everything at the same time, a lack of focus is what is causing so many would-be badasses to fall by the wayside.

WHAT THE HELL?!

You may want to be an entrepreneur. You may even feel that you have what it takes to not just take a product or service to market but to actually have a scaleable business. In your request of being your own boss it is probable that you have heard that millionaires have at least seven streams of income and so now you are looking to have that for yourself. There is a small issue. When you are beginning in business the marketplace should only know about 1 business venture.

ASA YOU ARE DOLLAR-BLOCKING!

I’m actually not dollar-blocking at all :). If you accumulate even three your potential customers will view you not as an expert but as a jack-of-all-trades which are a dime a dozen. If you want to be a personal trainer…DO THAT! If you want to be a sought after caterer…DO THAT! If you want to be a social media manager…DO THAT! On your road to doing that don’t also become: a real estate agent, Herbalife or Nerium representative, a traveling dj, a promoter, and a writer. I say don’t become these unless one of these ventures are in fact your main thing.

SO WHAT NOW?

In order to stay focused I suggest the following things:

1. PICK A PASSION – This had to be said.

2. FIND AN INVESTOR – Your job that you hate so much is the investor you’ve been searching for.

3. LIST YOUR PROBLEMS – Write down the top 10 problems that have a role in you not being successful.

4. QUIET YOURSELF – Meditate or take time out by the lake to get your thoughts together.

5. STATE YOUR BLUF – Create your Bottom Line Up Front. State your name, your gift and who you serve.

– Dreams & Blessings
